The last time I spoke with music producer & DJ, LANDONi was in Spring of 2022. He had just released his single “Outside Lookin’ In (feat. Caly Pearse)” and was in the works of planning the release of his EP, Ghosts.
Almost two years later the 9-song, 30-minute long project is finally here! The Ghost EP features singles like “Outside Lookin’ In” and “Angels & Demons,” the title track, “Ghosts,” and new releases including “All a Dream” and “Nobody Boi.”
NOLA Concerts: What’s the last year been like for you?
LANDONi: This last year has been spent tweaking the masters on “Ghosts” and methodically getting them to jive with one another. The remainder of my time has been spent creating new ideas, remixes, and originals, and figuring out where I want to go with my music after the release of “Ghosts”.
NOLA Concerts: Describe your new project, Ghosts, in 9 words.
LANDONi: A melodic and ethereal journey with a cinematic undertone.
NOLA Concerts: What did you draw inspiration from for this work?
LANDONi: It’s challenging to narrow the inspiration down to one thing. The project’s roots stemmed from a Les Brown motivational speech’s impact on me. Other tracks were inspired by simpler things such as a day with a cup of coffee at Cafe Du Monde, feeling creative after attending Bonnaroo, or just visiting my parents and playing their piano for some time.
NOLA Concerts: Can we expect any more live performances in 2024?
LANDONi: Yes, you sure can! I have some DJ sets that I will be performing at Republic this year! In parallel, I’m working on a brand new show using my MIDI controllers to create a more “live” feel to my electronic tunes!
